Lue ensin SÄÄNTÖ. Täydennä sitten tehtävä puuttuvilla kysymyslauseen sanoilla! MUISTA DID! Huomaa kuitenkin, että joukossa on yksi lause, jossa et sitä tarvitse. Tehtävää on helpotettu siten, että verbi, jota sinun tulee kysymyksessä käyttää, on laatikoitu. MUISTA kuitenkin, että se tulee kysymyslauseessa aina perusmuotoon!

Malli: How did your father come to work today? --- He came to work by bike.

When did you go shopping yesterday? --- I went shopping at 7a.m.

Tummanpunaiset sanat saattavat olla uusia. Niiden suomennoksen näet laittamalla osoittimen sanan päälle.

Kun teet kysymyksen imperfektissä, huomaa seuraavat säännöt:

Sanajärjestys on lähes aina: (Kysymyssana) + DID (= DO-apuverbi imperfektimuodossa!) + Tekijä + Pääverbi PERUSMUODOSSAAN + muut sanat:
esim. How did your father come to work today? --- Tässä lauseessa siis HOW = kys.sana; DID = apuverbi; your father = tekijä; COME = pääverbi
Ilman kysymyssanaa: esim. Did he come by bike?
Huomaa siis, että pääverbi on PERUSMUODOSSAAN ('come'). Se ei saa olla IMPERFEKTIMUODOSSA ('came'), koska lauseessa on jo imperfekti - DID!

POIKKEUS ylläolevaan sääntöön:

Jos lauseessa on BE-verbi. Sen imperfektimuodot ovat WAS ja WERE. Niiden kanssa EI SAA käyttää DID-apuverbiä kysymyslauseissa!
Esim. Where were your parents last summer? --- Were they in Australia?
Sanajärjestys on siis: (Kysymyssana) + WAS tai WERE + Tekijä + Muut sanat.

Where yesterday? --- I went to the cinema with my friend.

What film ? --- We sawLord of the Rings Part III.

exciting? --- Yes, the film was very exciting.

When ? --- It began at 7 p.m.

What about the heroes? a lot? --- Yes, they did. They fought almost all the time.

many orcs? --- Yes, they did. They shot at least a thousand of them. They were fantastic archersjousimiehiä as well as swordsmenmiekkailijoita!
